Was Bell Canada’s decision to divest its holdings in Northwestel due in part to a regulatory-driven restructuring? Last week, we learned Bell was selling Northwestel to Sixty North Unity, a consortium of Indigenous communities from the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. The acquisition price is one billion dollars, representing approximately 7.5 times EBITDA ($135M) and the deal is expected to close late this year.
